(Loosely translated as follows:)
Just as the dry, barren land thirsts for water,
my soul longs for You;
As the deer pants for the streams of water,
my soul longs for You.
Enough of hearing the voice of men,
May Your Voice be heard!
May Your Glory be seen!
I need Your Presence, I need it,
I need Your comforting Presence/company, I need it.
People who are searching for God’s Presence go to church, but they only listen to the voices of men and turn away after being deceived.
It is not by might, nor by power, but it is by My Spirit, says the Lord, and He is unchanging (He remains the same)!
In this world, men ask questions like: Where, oh where, is your God?
When I hear this, my heart is crushed.
My tears have been my food day and night.
I will wait for You, Lord, and I will continually praise You.
Oh, that this world would come to know and experience Your Glory!
